"I believe the solution is to gain a greater understanding of the person as an individual to really understand why that behaviour works for them. "

Jude Seaward

Thank you for the study day you provided to the trainee assistant practitioners on autism and the assault cycle at Bolton University. We all found it a beneficial learning experience and thoroughly interesting. All the students have said how they have learned new skills and have a better understanding of the needs of learning disability clients.

It is an excellent report and gives great insight into child x, I think the report will be really helpful to both the school and tribunal.

Hi, I'm Jude Seaward

Founder of Simply Misunderstood

As a Nurse Consultant/Behaviour Therapist with 30+ yrs experience with the NHS specialising in learning disabilities, I've been privileged to work with and support many families. Working across children and adults services gave me great insight to support families who challenge services.

I've been working with children with PDA since 2001, exploring and finely tuning my skills to support families and assist in empowering the children to embrace who they are and develop new skills which will take them forward into adulthood.

We all want the best for our children...

...and I recognise this in the parents I work with. I'm always striving to find new ways to support families and help them become the best parents they can be. I combine holistic therapies with scientific behavioural approaches to make a family centred approach. Understanding ourselves can be a useful tool to understanding and supporting ourselves - I work not only with the child but the family to bring around a better family life.

Why me?

  • Economically priced and exceptional value for money

  • Comprehensive evidence to support access to services or development of support packages

If they just understood for one minute that we have got no one to turn to, we go to these specialists to get reassurance, understanding and empathy, the time. services are now working to targets and tick boxes our targets are our kids and we don't fit in boxes it's important to find that someone who cares. -

Could have listened to Jude all day. Sorry I cried but it was nice to hear I wasn’t mad and you explained my daughter so well. It was so great to hear I’m not alone and loved this morning. -

We brought Jude in for a week to work intensively on assessing a very complex young man. We found out so much about how to understand him; it was a new way of thinking, but a way that worked. -
